As can be seen in this case, the maxillary sinus mucosal elevation using the DSA kit is different from the conventional passive hydraulic elevation, by utilizing the constant velocity static pressure function, which is the biggest advantage of the automatic injector i-JECT used for painless anesthesia, for the maxillary sinus mucosal elevation, so that a safe and uniform effect of mucosal elevation was obtained.
I have already felt the effect of the constant-speed static pressure function of the painless anesthesia machine in general treatment, but I was able to feel the usefulness of it once again by using it to raise the mucous membrane of the maxillary sinus, safely, uniformly and consistently.
As all clinicians know, the thin maxillary sinus mucosa is a tissue prone to perforation if proper force control fails. Therefore, maxillary sinus elevation using a crestal approach is a procedure that depends a lot on the operator's manipulation and hand sensation. Hydrostatic elevation by a general manual syringe is also the same in terms of using water pressure, but the disadvantage is that it is difficult to perform constant-speed static pressure as it is by hand pressure. The elevation pressure may vary in each situation, and the maxillary sinus mucosa is prone to irregular elevation instead of uniformly overall elevation. On the other hand, hydraulic lifting by DSA kit seems to have a great advantage in that the piston of the syringe moves at a very slow constant speed and constant pressure, so that the mucous membrane is raised more stably and uniformly.
